NORTON SOLAR PLANT

A 100MW solar plant to occupy 112ha of land is planned for Norton at the NBP Special Economic Zone. Investors from South Africa and the UK have already been secured and approved by the Zimbabwean Government to develop and install the solar power plant. Construction of the first phase of 30MW started in 2020. The power will be fed into the national grid at a connection point less than 500metres from the solar plant.

CHIVHU SOLAR FARM

Harvesting of alternative renewable energy resources is considered to be one of the most challenging problems facing the world today. Although significant efforts have been invested in the generation of green energy, they are still deficient due to the multiple technological and environmental uncertainties that continually arise. The Chivhu solar project facilitates opening up a new direction in solar technologies, presenting a competitive alternative to fossil fuels.
